Our goal was to help create a place where neighbors genuinely knew and cared about each other. Habersham’s intentional design choices of gracious porches and minimal setbacks from the sidewalks encourage people to kindly wave or pause to say hello. Residents find opportunities to build relationships within the community as they stroll along quiet, oak-lined streets, scenic walking trails, footbridges and waterfront parks. Everyday activities such as checking your mail at the Post Office or walking your dog can lead to friendly conversations from the front porch or at the Marketplace.

From traditional holiday gatherings to spontaneous block parties, Habersham thrives on connection. Annual neighborhood celebrations and special events bring residents and families together throughout the year, creating a true sense of belonging.

Our vibrant calendar is anchored by major community-wide events, including the Beaufort Twilight Run and the beloved Habersham Harvest Festival, which also draw thousands of visitors to the Marketplace. More casually, homeowner cookouts, charity fundraisers, parades, and the Easter egg hunt keep the spirit of togetherness alive all year long. In Habersham, there’s always something to celebrate… and always neighbors to celebrate with!

New homeowners are easily introduced to the Welcome and Social Committees that are resident-led and help bring exciting events, engaging presentations, and interactive opportunities to the community.
