This is the story of how we got here… Doug and I were researching areas to retire where it would be warm and sunny. We had long ago decided Florida was not for us. Over the course of a few years, we visited areas in North Carolina and Virginia. Nothing was right. Nothing seemed like it would fit us. Doug was telling friends that worked with him about the dilemma. At that time, we owned a place in Cape May, NJ. One of Doug’s friends said, “If you love Cape May, you would love Beaufort, SC”. The same day, we got our first issue of “Coastal Living” magazine.

Before Doug came home, I was reading it and noticed this very small ad for Habersham. I marked the page. Why it intrigued me, I don’t know, as it was only a small sketch, not even a photograph. When Doug walked into the door, he said that this friend mentioned Beaufort, SC, and I said that I saw this advertisement. We did our research, made plans for a visit and found ourselves the proud owner of a lovely lot less than 24 hours after arriving in Beaufort. And it fits us.
